The Do's and Dont's of Hair Extensions
DO |
DON'T |
No Parabens or Sulfates
Wash hair at least once a week with warm water and a moisturizing shampoo that is paraben and sulfate-free with a pH balance lower than 7.
|
Wrong Brush
Use a loop brush to detangle your hair to reduce the risk of pulling out the extensions and damaging your natural hair.
|
Moisturize & Condition
Follow with a moisturizing conditioner distributed evenly with a wide-tooth comb from end to root. |
Overuse of Products
Using too many products will require more frequent washing which will cause your exentsions to dry out over time by stripping natural moisture from the hair. |
Air Dry
Always allow your hair extensions to fully air dry to avoid stripping the hair of its natural shine and moisture. |
Sleeping With Wet Hair
Allow your hair to air dry before sleeping on it. This prevents matting and tangling of the hair at the base of the extensions |
Use Heat Protectant
Be sure to apply a heat protectant before using styling tools on your hair to protect it and ensure the longevity of your purchase. |
Overstyling
Avoid applying too much heat or too many chemicals to the hair. Just like your natural hair, this can cause breakage, drying and overall damage to the extensions . |
